Elden Ring: 8 GB of RAM is no longer enough
We warned you, 2022 is the year of video games. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the number of big new game releases, you’re not alone. We’re in the middle of a tornado right now: Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Elden Ring, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Babylon’s Fall, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Sifu, Ghostwire: Tokyo and more More over.
It’s a side effect of years of delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic that pushed the games back months, if not years, from their originally scheduled release dates. These adjustments, in 2020 and 2021, disrupted game release schedules.
What does RAM do when gaming?
RAM is important so that your computer can access the storage at the same pace that the rest of your computer can handle. If you have limited RAM, you might get a bunch of stutters because your computer is actually working faster than it can even handle. Having more RAM will give the rest of the computer the time it needs to finish its job.
This is important for gaming because it will actually ruin your gaming experience if you don’t have enough RAM. This means frequent Frame Drops, stuttering, and maybe even crashes to your game. You obviously don’t want this so your best option is to turn off any unused Process or upgrade to more RAM. Plus, if you have 8GB of DDR3 RAM, it will be pretty bad.

The moment of truth is upon us, as developer FromSoftware has officially released the PC specifications required in order to play its insanely anticipated adventure title, Elden Ring. The hugely hyped fantasy RPG will finally be let loose on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms on February 25.
It should come as little surprise to anyone that the visually splendid title requires something of a pretty hefty powerbase in order to get it up-and-running, let alone operate in all of its regal glory. For the minimum spec, players will want an Nvidia GeForce 1060 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB video card, along with 12GB of RAM and a processor equal to an i5 8400 or a Ryzen 3 3300X… It’s not looking good for yer boy.
