Make Roblox game Icons and Thumbnails
In this article we will show you how to make the icons and thumbnails for the games you make for Roblox, without programs and totally free, as well as we will show you how to upload those covers and thumbnails.
How to make Roblox game Icons and Thumbnails online?
It is necessary that the cover of your game has a lot of attention to stand out from the other games of the competition and that the users click on your game.
The best cover images and the ones that users enter, are usually those that have the following requirements;
1- They have a representative background of some important place of the map of your game. To choose a good representative image, open your game in Roblox Studio, and look for a place on the map that impacts the player, and then proceed to take a screenshot. You can do this by pressing the keys ( Print Screen + Windows) or by using the Lightshot program that allows you to crop the image, add text, etc.
2- After having taken the screenshot to use it as a background image, we proceed to edit it, and we do this using the free website, known as PIXLR, which we will leave in the following button:
Once inside just click on the button that says advanced photo editor:
Then click on CREATE NEW. It is important that you choose the size 512 x 512, as this is the right image size for Roblox game covers. After choosing the size, click on create.
The images should have the following size:
- Game Icon : 512 x 512 pixels
- Thumbnails : 1920 x 1080 pixels
3- Now you only have to go to File / open image and select the image that you made the screenshot, in Windows, go to the folder My images. There inside look for a folder called Screenshots and load the image.
With the cut tool shown in the image above you can cut the image by selecting the part you want. Now with the keys (CTRL + A) select everything and copy it with CTRL + C and paste it in the layer you created.
You can also use the tool with form of T, to add text and this way add the name of the game to the miniature of the game.
4- Done! Save the image and the cover is ready.
How to upload a Game Icon and also a Thumbnail to Roblox?
To upload the thumbnail and the icon in Roblox of our game, we must enter Roblox and go to Create, and in the tab My Creations, you will see our game. We must click on the gear icon as shown in the following image and then click on Configure Start Place:
Go to the Game Icon tab and click on the Select File button, choose the image you have created and don’t forget to click on Save. The image and the text must not contain inappropriate or rude words.
The image will be fully uploaded to the platform in a few hours, it is not immediately uploaded to the Roblox platform as it needs to be moderated by the administrators. You must perform the same procedure in Thumbnails.
