Many items in the game can affect other items or be used for crafting. To make a stone knife from two small stones, for example:
- Open the inventory screen and put one in your hands (drag to the “held” box under the character)
- Drag the other to the “held” box: the right side will say “replace”, the left will say “combine”. Drop it in “combine”.
- Exit the inventory screen and you will see the hint telling you to hold down the left mouse button (or the “F” key) to create a stone knife.

There are a few reasons why your Pip-Boy might be zoomed in. One possibility is that you have activated the “zoom in” function. To disable this feature, open the Settings menu and uncheck the “Zoom in” box. If you’re not using the zoom-in feature, another possibility is that you accidentally pressed the “plus” or “minus” buttons on the side of your Pip-Boy, which will change the zoom level.
